Pugwash is a group of folk musicians that provides a selection of traditional dance music in English, Scottish and Irish styles.
Our main activity is the Ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) or Barn Dance, although we also take bookings for fetes, private parties and corporate functions.
Pugwash operates mainly around Kent, Sussex and Surrey, with occasional forays into London, Berkshire and Essex.
Kent has along tradition of ceilidhs and barn dances and Pugwash has a long tradition of playing and calling for ceilidhs in Kent.
Pugwash provides entertainment throughout the evening, interspersing the dances with songs and tunes.
The Pugwash sound system is more than enough for the largest of ballrooms, village halls, marquees etc.
No dancing knowledge is needed. Martina, Pugwash's expert caller will explain what to do before each dance and then shout the moves as you progress through the dance.
